New England - "Miles of Smiles"
This project allowed the attendance of 40 participants (Child and Family Health nurses, Speech Pathologists, Dieticians, Primary Health Care Nurses and Playgroup coordinators) at the "Miles of Smiles" seminar. The seminar aimed to address the poor oral health of children and families in the less advantaged sectors of the community.
This project was measured by:
- Enhanced knowledge, understanding and awareness of issues concerning infant oral health
- Enhanced assessment skills and referral practice of child and family health nurses and allied health workers regarding oral health problems
- Enhanced professional working relationships and opportunities for collaboration and information exchange between Paediatric and Oral Health Networks
