New England - Clinical Supervision for Child and Family Health Nurses
This project allowed 12 participants to attend a clinical supervision workshop held on 21 and 22 June 2004.
Participants included:
- Child and Family Health Nurses
- Social Workers
- an Alcohol and Other Drugs Counsellor,
- a Project Officer and
- a Program Coordinator who provide health care to children in acute care facilities and in the community.
The workshop explored understandings and experiences of:
- supervision
- values and beliefs
- power relations in supervision
- supervision in practice
- individual and group supervision.
The workshop was presented in a manner that is consistent with the Family Partnership model of Child and Family Health Nurse practice. As a result of the workshop the New England Area Health Service is considering how clinical supervision for Child and Family Health Nurses can be implemented across the region.
