The following projects were successful in gaining NSW Health enhancement funding and were conducted in the financial years 2003-04:

In January 2004 it became apparent that the New England allocation from 2002/03 had not been entirely spent. It was recommended to seek expressions of interest from paediatricians, nursing and allied health staff across the New England Area Health Service for projects consistent with the identified priority areas. Submissions were made to a working party who decided to approve the following projects:
- Supporting the "Issues in Clinical Assessment in Child Protection"
- One-week clinical placement by the Moree-Narrabri Sexual Assault Counsellor
- 40 participants in "Miles of Smiles" seminar
- Clinical supervision for nurses providing health care to children
- Paediatric Nursing Update
- Seven OTs to attend specialised workshop
- Education day for acute care nursing staff
- Clinical placements to enhance paediatric nursing surgical orthopaedic services
