Mid North Coast - Training
This project provided training and education opportunities for MNCAHS paediatricians, nurses and allied health professionals to update normal development knowledge and enhance intervention strategies for infants and children with:
- learning difficulties
- feeding difficulties
- musculoskeletal problems
- developmental delay
- potential for mental health problems
The project aimed:
- To improve the standard of client/patient care within MNCAHS Child Health services by supporting and promoting professional development in current best practice.
- To improve retention of regional health service staff through facilitation of child and family health and paediatric staff professional development.
The success of the project was measured by:
- Children receiving care from staff who have knowledge and expertise in current best practice
- Increased opportunity for professional development
- Increased job satisfaction of staff providing a child health service
- Improved retention of staff in a MNCAHS regional hospitals and health services
