Central Coast - Clinical skills and professional development
This project was designed to develop opportunities for clinical skills and professional development in acute care centres through staff rotations to Children's Hospitals. Due to the late arrival of funding and winter activity on the Children's Ward, the planned clinical placements from Children's Ward to tertiary centres did not occur. The funding was then allocated to six emergency department staff of Gosford and Wyong Hospitals to attend two-week placements at Children's Hospital Westmead's emergency department.
The project aimed to:
- enhance nursing and medical knowledge of advances in paediatric care and clinical skills development
- facilitate consistency and continuity of care
