Networking for Allied Health Professionals

One of the aims of the Allied Health and Clinical Support Program is to facilitate ongoing programs to support Allied Health Professionals who work with children across the three NSW Child Health Networks.

In 2010 and 2011, the Allied Health Educators have overseen the creation of discipline specific networking groups through the NSW Human Services Network (HSNet), a free, secure site for staff working in the NSW human services sector.  HSNet aims to provide a central location for sharing information across government and non-government agencies. The tools and resources offered on the HSNet website improve communication and collaboration in the delivery of services.  HSNet aims to provide a central location for sharing information across government and non-government agencies.

Membership to the HSNet groups is moderated. This means that while people can subscribe themselves, their actual membership is subject to approval by the group manager. This is done to ensure the privacy of discussions and also to ensure that those outside the group (such as the general public) cannot access them.

Currently HSNet groups exist for:

  • Dietitians - Paeddiet
  • Occupational Therapists - Paediatricots
  • Physiotherapists - Paedpt
  • Play Therapists - Paedplay
  • Psychologists - Paedpsych
  • Social Workers - Paedsocwk
  • Speech Pathologists - Paedspeak

In order to become a member of any of the networking groups, Allied Health Professionals must register with HSNet.  Please follow this link to the HSNet website.  If you experience difficulties registering with HSNet please click on this link.

Once you are registered with HSNet you can search for your discipline's networking group using the Groups>Search/Join Groups menu.  Simply type the name of the group into the Group Search Term field.  To apply for group membership, click the Join link and an email will be sent to the Group Manager to review your request.  When your request has been processed, you will receive an email with your membership status.
